We sold our house!
WHILE ON VACATION.
Yep, the deal is already firm and possession is June 15. That is exactly 30 days from today. Or 722 hours... but who's counting? Money question: We'll end up breaking even. After nearly 3 months on the market, we're happy with that.
Here's the funny part for you - we got it all on video! Juliano [the video nerd] was trying to film some beer tastings we were doing for his Portland video when I got the call from our realtor. So, through the magic of technology - I present you:
Selling a house while sampling beer in the middle of the day!
And that is our tale bloggy friends. I'll be rolling out our trip stuff and keeping you posted about the move - yikes! Meanwhile, out of town family will be staying with us this weekend and next... so we'll be busy!
Oh, CONGRATS you guys! That is so exciting! Must be a huuuuuuuuuge relief. And breaking even may not be ideal but it's sure better than losing money. Yay!
ReplyDeleteThanks! - The sale is a huge relief, and leaving with some money is better than none... but in the end we're glad we stuck it out and sold!
DeleteYay! So exciting for you two! One step closer to your big trip!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, all of the posts I read about the stress of selling houses makes me really glad that I have just been a renting schmuck all this time. You almost make it seem like this was a fun process, but I'm too wise for your tricks!
One step close is right - I finally got to cross another item off our Champagne list!
DeleteFun wasn't really our first adjective for sure - but after our last offer fell through and we were so disappointed, we decided to try to remember our intentions of going on our trip, and that helped to keep this positive this time around!
It almost feels like you've done the impossible. Specially during these difficult times! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteIt kinda feels like that for us too! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteYay!!!! Onward-ho!!! I'm loving the comic book theme here too....hoping for more KAPOW!! and BOOM!! in the future!!
ReplyDeleteHa ha... thanks! It was funny that we caught it on video... and this kinda just happened! We'll have to try it again :)
DeleteWow, that was easy! Your realtor must be real good. :) That's the good thing about getting help from real estate pros, you don't have to do the work all alone and end up scratching your head from all the legal cost and transactions when putting your house in the market. =)
